So far I have:

• Installed the Multiplayer installer.
• Downloaded JC4 fresh from Steam with no mods of any kind.
• When opening the multiplayer program, it fails to set a client DLL.
• I can download additional new client DLLs; however, they still can’t be found.
• I tried setting a custom client and pointing it to the downloaded DLL, but no go either.

I don’t own all of the DLCs. I own the Reloaded edition that I purchased at launch. I don’t know if that’s a problem or not.

These are the DLCs I don’t own. if that could affect the multiplayer.

Can you send me your %LocalAppdata%\JC4MP\logs\JC4MP.log? This seems like it could be a launcher issue. Shouldn't be related to DLC

could it be your anti virus is blocking the client dll?

I have nothing but the base Windows Defender

try to disable it temporarily, or a better thing to do is to whitelist the client.dll, because sometimes its gay and deletes it, or tampers with it

This is a fresh log. All I have done is open the MP Launcher, tried to join a server, then close it.

I disabled Defender entirely, and the problem persists. I also tried whitelisting the files, but it still failed.

the error in your logs means that it's unable to load the config file

can you send screenshots of what you see in %LocalAppData%\JC4MP and all of the folders in it? and inside any folders in client?

hmm it might be getting confused since you have it in two different locations

usually it looks for everything in appdata

I might be able to fix this on my end, but if you reinstall everything to the default appdata location it should work

So installing to the default location did work. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, worth fixing that or removing the ability to set a custom location in the installer.
